Looking Forward – A Strong Industry Outlook
Canada is expected to install a minimum of 1,500 MW of new wind energy capacity in 2015.
Ontario will release an RFP for 300 MW of new wind energy prior to the conference and it is likely the winners will be identified before the end of the year. The province will issue an additional 300 MW RFP in 2016.
Quebec will release a new 10 year energy strategy before the end of 2015 that is likely to include an important role for wind energy
Alberta is expected to establish new climate change targets this Spring and these targets are likely to send a signal that new renewable energy will be required if the targets are to be met.
