The NADA Expo connects people and companies to the unique face-to-face opportunities that can propel their individual businesses and the overall auto industry to a higher level of success. The automotive industry come to the NADA Convention to ENGAGE their business, ENGAGE their customers, ENGAGE their community, and ENGAGE the future!
The NADA story began in 1917 when 30 auto dealers traveled to the nation’s capital to convince Congress not to impose a luxury tax on the automobile. They successfully argued that the automobile is a necessity of American life, not a luxury. From that experience was born the National Automobile Dealers Association. Today, NADA represents nearly 16,000 new-car and new-truck dealerships with 32,500 franchises, both domestic and international.
Medium- and heavy-duty truck dealers have specific needs and encounter unique issues that are different from NADA's new-car and -truck dealers. In 1970, NADA established the American Truck Dealers (ATD) division to provide programs and services to this highly specialized segment of its membership. Today, ATD represents more than 2,000 franchised medium and heavy duty truck dealers holding nearly 3,000 separate franchises, domestic and import.
