The overriding theme of the Miami Breast Cancer Conference®, "Hear it on Friday, use it on Monday", continues to be embraced by the Chairs of the conference. Indeed, at the 33rd Annual Miami Breast Cancer Conference®, attendees will not only improve their knowledge of novel treatment approaches, but also leave the conference with the confidence and intent to apply state-of-the-art treatment strategies to care for their patients with breast cancer.
The multidisciplinary Miami Breast Cancer Conference® has a tremendous legacy to bring together key disciplines from medical, surgical, and radiation oncology, as both faculty and attendees. International experts continue to serve as faculty for this premier and internationally renowned oncology conference, which focuses on the most relevant breast cancer topics during General Sessions, Medical and Surgical Tracked Sessions, Tumor Boards, and the popular Medical Crossfire® Sessions.
This educational program is directed toward medical, surgical, and radiation oncologists interested in the treatment of patients with breast cancer. Fellows, nurse practitioners, nurses, physician assistants, researchers, and other health care professionals interested in the treatment of breast cancer are also invited to attend.
The 33rd Annual Miami Breast Cancer Conference® Mini-Symposium offers an additional educational opportunity for attendees who plan to arrive in Miami the day before the official conference begins. The Mini-Symposium takes the format of a World-Class Tumor Board, featuring cases and discussions that highlight challenging clinical situations commonly faced by surgeons and oncologists, including:
The value of excision when LCIS is found at core needle biopsy
Breast-conservation therapy by tumor biologic subtype
The challenge of pain management
Defining and managing invasive lobular carcinoma
Regional node irradiation in sentinel node-positive disease
Contemporary issues in lymphedema
Therapy for intermediate-risk ER-positive, HER2-negative tumors
This special session was developed to be of interest to healthcare practitioners from all specialties, and will provide practical information to enhance patient care in the clinic, delivered by top experts in the field of breast cancer. If your schedule allows, we hope you will plan to attend and take advantage of this extra session!
