Event Overview:
The 59th Annual Drosophila Research Conference is the premier meeting for Drosophila researchers, including students, postdocs, research staff, PIs, and educators. The conference will be held April 11–15, 2018 at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown. Share your research with the fruit fly community and learn about the latest results and techniques. As many as 1,000 presentations cover the full diversity of Drosophila investigations, from genetics, to molecular biology, cell biology, development, immunology, physiology, neuroscience, evolution, and more.
Early career scientists, including postdocs and students, will benefit from networking events, career and publishing workshops, presentation and poster review opportunities, and other initiatives designed by the Genetics Society of America to prepare attendees for success during their training and careers.
You can join the conversation on social media using #DROS18.
Exhibitor Information:
Meet the fly community face-to-face by exhibiting at the Conference. To maximize your visibility, the exhibition hall will house the opening reception, exhibits, and the popular poster sessions.
The Annual Drosophila Research Conference is the largest gathering of the international Drosophila community. Running annually for nearly 60 years, this proven platform is expected to attract around 1,400 attendees in 2018.
About art:
Drosophila wing imaginal discs with GFP expression (green) driven by the nab dorsal wing margin enhancer (DWME). This enhancer integrates orthogonal signals from the Notch and Dpp/BMP signaling pathways in an Apterous-dependent manner in the dorsal compartment. The nab DWME is studied to reveal insights into selector licensing of enhancer signal integration. Each disc was co-stained with DAPI (cyan) and either Wingless, Patched, or Engrailed (magenta).
