Six Reasons to Attend
Member input informs the educational program at the ICAA Conference. Seminars and workshops target the varied dimensions, roles and solutions in active aging, aiming to meet industry needs and transform ideas into action.
ICAA recruits active-aging industry leaders and experts from diverse backgrounds as conference presenters. These individuals bring first-rate industry experience, knowledge and skills to their sessions.
Attendees are provided with all session handouts available. At the conference, you’ll receive a CD-ROM containing these handouts, which you may print at any of the free printing stations on-site. The CD is also a valuable reference to take home and share with your colleagues. If you want to print session handouts in advance, you can access them online before the event; ICAA will email you a link to this site.
The ICAA Conference brings together professionals across the active-aging spectrum. Learn from others who support older-adult wellness and quality of life. Meet or reconnect with professional allies and build your knowledge network. And enjoy an evening of social time and learning at the Poster Session and ICAA Networking Reception.
Attendees can register to obtain continuing education units (CEUs), also called continuing education credits (CECs), at the ICAA Conference. As a CEU registrant, you’ll receive a log book at the conference, which you must turn in at the ICAA registration desk once the event is over. Six to eight weeks later your CEU transcripts will arrive.
The trade show
The ICAA Conference takes place in conjunction with the Athletic Business Conference & Expo, one of the industry’s premier events in North America. Through this partnership, you can explore a showcase of products and services aimed at wellness, sports, exercise and recreation. The ICAA Pavilion in the exhibit hall features offerings designed specifically for age 50-plus adults.
Held by International Council on Active Aging (ICAA), Athletic Business (AB) and the Medical Fitness Association (MFA), this event attracts a unique mix of facility owners, managers and program directors among its 3,500 attendees, with the conference and show widely regarded as the essential starting point of a successful building or renovation project. It’s this reputation that keeps the industry’s top suppliers tapping into ICAA, MFA and AB buyers year after year.
Attendees come from:
active adult communities
assisted living and skilled nursing
rehabilitation centers and PT clinics
hospital fitness centers
fitness clubs, private and public country clubs and resorts
recreation and parks organizations
seniors centers and area agencies on aging

ICAA connects a community of like-minded organizations and professionals who share the goals of changing society's perceptions of aging and improving the quality of life for aging Baby Boomers and older adults within the seven dimensions of wellness (emotional, vocational, physical, spiritual, intellectual, social, environmental). The council supports these professionals with education, information, resources and tools so they can achieve optimal success.
