This course is designed for all clinicians including general internists, hospitalists, critical care, anesthesia and emergency clinicians. It will be useful to any clinician regardless of specialty or training who is interested in or uses point-of-care or bedside ultrasound in patient evaluation and treatment. The focus will be on bedside ultrasound use in evaluating and treating perioperative, routine, urgent, emergent, and critical patients in a variety of settings. A robust hands-on component and lectures by national experts that build on earlier principles will allow participants to attain excellent initial training and an understanding of a wide armament of point-of-care ultrasound applications. Differing from contemporary courses this unique course will provide cadaver experience for procedures and applications as well as cutting edge simulation in addition to live model scanning. Topics will cover the current breadth of point-of-care ultrasound applications in a variety of clinical settings and practices. The faculty has a diverse range of clinical backgrounds in point-of-care ultrasound. This nationally renowned faculty will provide different points of view and expert-designed lectures in their topic areas. There will be ample time for discussion with faculty, especially during the hands-on components of the course. The presentation of basic through advanced topics in point-of-care ultrasound will serve novice through advanced users.
