A Labor Day tradition since 1870, the largest fun-filled family event in the Great North Woods features livestock shows, truck and tractor pulls, horse shows, animal pulling contests, a milking parlor, 4-H Dairy Bar, Farmer for a Day program, exhibits, children's activities, live entertainment and Dreamland Amusements midway rides for all ages.
Free grandstand entertainment includes the 7th Annual Fireman's Muster (7 p.m. Sept. 1), 21st Annual Cruise Night (6 p.m. Sept. 2), Red Shack Band classic rock (7 p.m. Sept. 2), Power Wheel Derby (1 p.m. Sept. 3), Krazy Kountry Band (5 p.m. Sept. 3) and Lorrie Morgan & Pam Tillis in concert (7 p.m. Sept. 3).
Kids Korner activities include train rides, pedal tractor pulls, a giant sand pile, Toddler Driving School, scavenger hunts, free craft projects and the Sylvia & the Magic Trunk ventriloquist show. Kids Korner opens at noon Sept. 1-2 and 10 a.m. Sept. 3-5.
The fairgrounds open at 8 a.m. Rides open at 11:30 a.m. daily and close at 10 p.m. Sept. 1, 11 p.m. Sept. 2-4 and 6 p.m. Sept. 5.
Pay-one-price gate admission, which includes rides and free entertainment, is $15 Sept. 1, 2 and 5 and $16 Sept. 3-4. A season pass is $65. Children under 36 inches tall are admitted free when accompanied by a paying adult. Active military personnel receive a $2 discount. Admission for seniors ages 70 and older is free on Sept. 1 and 5 and $10 Sept. 2-4 (rides not included).
Paid grandstand shows are $10 each: Big Rig Truck Pull & Show N Shine (1 p.m. Sept. 4), 4x4 Truck Pull (6 p.m. Sept. 4) and Demolition Derby (3:30 p.m. Sept. 5). Shows are free for children under 36 inches tall when accompanied by a paying adult.
