About NACS:

NACS was founded August 14, 1961, as the National Association of Convenience Stores. It is an international trade association representing more than 2,200 retail and 1,600 supplier company members. NACS member companies do business in nearly 50 countries worldwide, with the majority of members based in the United States. The U.S. convenience store industry, with 151,282 stores (as of December 31, 2013) across the country, posted $696 billion in total sales in 2013, of which $491 billion were motor fuels sales. The convenience retailing industry continues to be dominated by single-store operators, which account for 62.8% of all convenience stores (95,056 stores total).

NACS serves the convenience and fuel retailing industry by providing industry knowledge, connections and advocacy to ensure the competitive viability of its members' businesses. In 2007, the association shortened its name to NACS and added a tagline that better defines its presence both internationally and at the retail fueling level: The Association for Convenience and Petroleum Retailing. In 2010, this statement was further enhanced to The Association for Convenience and Fuel Retailing.

About PEI:

The Petroleum Equipment Institute is a trade association whose members manufacture, distribute and service petroleum marketing and liquid handling equipment.

Founded in 1951, PEI represents more than 1,600 member companies located in all 50 states and more than 80 countries. Members include manufacturers, sellers and installers of equipment used in service stations, terminals, bulk plants, fuel, oil and gasoline delivery, and similar petroleum marketing operations.

Keynote Speakers

ERIC Chester

Award Winning speaker and Bestselling Author – Leading voice on Employee Engagement & Workplace culture

Eric Chester is a trusted source in the global dialogue on employee engagement, workplace culture, and the emerging generation. He was one of the first authors to spell out the radical differences of the post-Gen X workforce. As a speaker, Eric Chester holds the prestigious CSP (Certified Speaking Professional) credential awarded by the National Speakers Association. Chester believes the only way for a c-store to stand out is to create a culture that makes your store a terrific place to work. Easier said than done. But just how to accomplish and grasp this holy grail will be the focus of General Session speaker Eric Chester’s address to attendees at this year's NACS Show.

Chip Conley

American hotelier, hospitality, entrepreneur, author and speaker

Chip Conley learned how to be a great manager by observing one of his former bosses do it all wrong. The lessons come not just from his McDonald’s shift work at a teenager, but also from his experience as founder of the second largest boutique hotel brand in the world—Joie de Vivre Hospitality—and from his more recent role as the original head of global hospitality and strategy for Airbnb, where he is now strategic advisor. Conley, has also written Peak: How Great Companies Get Their Mojo from Maslow and The New York Times bestseller Emotional Equations, both books focused on his theories on transformation and meaning in business and life. How to keep c-store employees motivated will be a key topic of his General Session speech at the 2017 NACS Show.
