Seven of DFIs technical committees have joined forces to organize SuperPile 2014. This twoâ€day conference will consist of presentations on the latest developments in Driven Piles, Augered Castâ€inâ€Place/Drilled Displacement Piles, Micropiles, Marine Foundations, Testing and Evaluation of Foundation Systems, Seismic and Lateral Loads, and Drilled Shafts. Day One will be a plenary (combined) session and Day Two will have two concurrent sessions giving attendees the option to choose which presentations are of interest to them.
Presentations will focus on local and outâ€ofâ€state case studies, theory and design with emphasis on practical application, new technologies and ideas for future development. There has been interest in an increasing use of high capacity foundations based on recent changes in building codes and AASHTO specifications. In addition, the designâ€build method is becoming more routine on DOT projects. Some of the challenges associated with these topics will be discussed.
Equipment, material and instrumentation suppliers, contractors and other vendors will present their services in our Exhibit Hall. Visit www.dfi.org for upâ€toâ€date details on this conference.
