In the time it takes a television show to meander its way through a season, online video has spawned three or four new genres of content. Online video is a medium that refuses to be defined. Trust us, we’ve tried.
Creating an event for something so wildly diverse and rapidly evolving may be an impossible task, but it is one we attempt anyway, and with excitement, because we believe that online video is the most important cultural force since the motion picture. We believe deeply that we are in the very early, defining moments of an extremely powerful global force.
VidCon strives to be the physical center of that revolution.

More things – that’s good, right? We want to make sure we’re able to feature as many creators and talents and ideas as possible, so we’re adding a whole new set of stages at the Anaheim Marriott directly adjacent to the ACC, open to all three ticket types. We’ll have panels, Q&As, and activities going on over there, so you’ll be able to revel more in this magical world of online video.
It’s no secret that gamers are juggernauts of online video content, but until now we’ve never really been able to give those creators the nod they deserve. So this year, we’re setting up a space on the main floor of the convention center totally dedicated to gaming. We’ll be hosting panels and discussions about how to create good gaming content, live gameplay with top creators, and more. It’s going to be open to all three ticket types and it’s going to be good.
