John G. Smith is a Financial Executive & CPA turned Integrity& Ethics Speaker and author of Embracing the Abyss (2017): The true story of unknowingly becoming part of a fraud scandal, receiving a Presidential Pardon, and being surprised by a spiritual awakening.  He offers thought-provoking keynotes & seminars exploring the consequences of unethical behavior and the impact on your career and your life with all types and sizes of audiences.  John is also a Director of The Integrity Network (  He has been featured in The NY Times, The Wall Street Journal and in newspapers in his home state of Texas (The Dallas Morning News, The Fort Worth Star-Telegram), as well as on television stations in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. 

My Background

John Smith was born in Nashville and raised in Oklahoma City and Dallas and is a Vietnam Veteran. After returning to the U.S. (Welcome home Johnny!) he was the honor graduate of his Army Drill Sergeant School. Obtaining an early release to attend college, he graduated Magna Cum Laude from North Texas State University with a BBA in Accounting. He became a CPA and spent five years in public accounting, and after the S&L crisis became an active supporter of affordable housing.
