Event Overview:

The annual scientific meeting of the SID is held each spring in the US. Every 5 years the annual meeting is held in conjunction with the The European Society for Dermatological Research and the Japanese Society for Investigative Dermatology as is known as "International Investigative Dermatology (IID)".

The content of the annual SID meeting includes guest lectures from internationally recognized scientists, cutting-edge "frontier" talks in skin science, oral presentations from peer-reviewed abstracts, educational symposia on a wide-range of topics, electronic and paper presentations of posters and interactive workshop-type sessions. With an attendance of over 1200, SID meetings attract basic and clinical scientists with an interest in dermatology to discover the latest findings lab-based, clinical and translational research.

About SID:

The Society for Investigative Dermatology was born out of a vision to serve a segment of science previously unrepresented by the medical societies of the United States: investigative dermatology. The founders saw a need for an organization with a devotion to cutaneous investigation, rather than clinical work, and to promote investigative dermatology to a fully respected position among the medical specialties. In tandem with the establishment of the society, they sought to develop a new scientific journal that would act as a singular resource for investigative work in cutaneous biology. Previously, this research had been scattered among the non-dermatology journals and had largely been completed outside the specialty of investigative dermatology.

Over the past 50-years, financial institutions have created an enormous and uncontrollable amount of data. Today, much of the data stored, generated and consumed by capital market firms is poorly managed and governed. Not only does this create operational inefficiencies and increase costs, it also poses a security risk while wasting precious time. The North American Financial Information Summit - NAFIS 2019 will allow you to think differently about how your data is stored, managed and distributed across the firm to drive change and enable efficient consumption.

About Us

The Institute for Private Capital will bring together investment professionals and academics to focus on global issues in private equity.

This year’s program will include presentations from top industry experts as well as panel discussions on topics including risk-adjustments in private equity returns and convergence of public and private market returns. Registration coming soon with priority given to IPC Members with limited seating available for additional attendees.

IPC founding member, Northern Trust, will again host a private equity research symposium on May 8th at its offices in Chicago, now in its fifth year. Building on momentum from previous years, IPC’s Research Director, Greg Brown, and Prof. Steve Kaplan (University of Chicago) will present the latest research impacting the global private equity market and growing trends.

IPC brings together academic and industry experts who work together to generate new knowledge about private capital markets based on objective academic research. Findings are disseminated through academic publications, research symposia and education outreach.

Central to the institute’s mission is creating new data resources which can be utilized by academic researchers.

This effort fills a significant gap in the knowledge base of financial economics. Privately held capital constitutes the vast majority of global capital, yet little academic research focuses on it because so little data are available.
