Stormy Weather Banks presents Launching A Fashion Line Conference August 3rd and Breaking Barriers Awards Gala August 4th at the LA Convention Center. 6 seminars by fashion industry experts and a personal fashion industry rise to fame narrative by Keynote Speaker TJ Walker, founder of Color Colours Fashion. An After-Party concert follows the conference with performances by Sharaya J, Maserati Jay, Little Women of Atlanta rapper Bumpman, Bay area rapper Emakulant, and LA rapper Active The Great.
August 4th The Breaking Barriers Awards Gala will honor fashion pioneers: Costume Designer Ruth Carter (Black Panther), Supermodel Beverly Johnson, and Cross Colours Founders: Carl Jones & TJ Walker. The awards show starts at 12noon and is hosted by the Master of Ceremony himself, Obba Babatunde. A 10am red carpet arrival event will start the day off and a fashion show featuring top student designers from FIDM, LA Trade Tech, and other fashion schools / programs.
