The AHA was founded in 1884 and has held an Annual Meeting since 1885. Meetings are held Thursday-Sunday, the first weekend in January following New Year's Day.
The annual meeting offers many opportunities to explore career paths, hone your job search skills, and expand your professional network. Whatever the stage of your career search, there is a workshop, panel session or networking opportunity to aid you at the AHA annual meeting.
Since 1884, the American Historical Association annual meeting has been the premier gathering for historians to come together to share research and professional development, and to network with other scholars from across the world. Young historians attend to learn about the profession and their career paths. The Exhibit Hall is a major attraction at the annual meeting, bringing avenues for publishing and new tools for scholarship to more than 4,000 history professionals.
The AHA is excited to return to Atlanta, where we have previously held meetings in 2007, 1996, and 1975. The meeting will be held in the Hilton Atlanta, Atlanta Marriott Marquis, and the Hyatt Regency Atlanta in the Downtown area. Located a few blocks away from Centennial Olympic Park, CNN, the World of Coke, and the Georgia Aquarium, the hotels are also next to the Peachtree Center MARTA station with access to the rest of the city.
Join us in this vibrant city for some southern hospitality and productive networking with historians from around the World!
A GREAT NEW OPTION FOR PROVIDERS OF DIGITAL PRODUCTS AND TOOLS
A new feature area on the exhibit floor, the Digital Alley will showcase exhibitors who provide emerging technologies to the discipline. From mobile apps to history focused websites and handheld devices to web-based teaching tools, this area of the floor will attract a wide range of attendees. In a break from traditional exhibits, these kiosk displays will include everything an exhibitor needs at a special price.
