GOALS
The goal of the 8th International Conference on HIV Treatment and Prevention Adherence is to provide an international forum for the presentation and discussion of state-of-the-science HIV treatment and biomedical prevention adherence research, as well as current behavioral and clinical perspectives in practicum. Our ultimate hope is that this dialogue translates into evidence-based implementation of approaches for real world clinical and community settings.

Describe current perspectives on biomedical HIV prevention interventions, including pre-exposure prophylaxis [PrEP], antiretroviral-based microbicides, and preventive and therapeutic vaccines
Discuss the implications of HIV treatment and biomedical prevention adherence for individual, community, and public health
Identify adherence assessment tools and interventions that can be integrated into patient care and/or as components of prevention interventions
TARGET AUDIENCE
The target audience for this conference includes physicians, nurse-practitioners, pharmacists, psychologists, behavioral researchers, social scientists, epidemiologists, social workers, case managers, AIDS service organization (ASO) staff, and allied healthcare and lay professionals working in the field of HIV medicine.
About IAPAC
The Physicians Association for AIDS Care (PAAC) was the first organization to support US physicians in the mid-1980s as they ministered to people who, given limited treatment options, were quickly dying of AIDS-related complications. PAAC was the precursor to the International Association of Physicians in AIDS Care (IAPAC), which was incorporated on 7 February 1995 to represent HIV-treating physicians and allied healthcare professionals worldwide. Today, IAPAC is known as the International Association of Providers of AIDS Care - a name change that took place on 1 December 2012 as formal acknowledgement of the contributions made by various cadres of professional and paraprofessional providers of HIV prevention, care, and treatment services.
