The American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS) is the largest specialty organization in the United States exclusively representing dermatologic surgeons who have unique training and experience to treat the health, function and beauty of skin throughout every stage of life.
ASDS members are recognized as leaders in the field of cosmetic and medically necessary skin surgery.
They also are pioneers in the field; many are involved in the clinical studies that bring popular treatments to revitalize skin and fill and diminish wrinkles to the forefront. Their work has helped create and enhance many of the devices that tighten skin and remove blemishes, hair and fat.
Dermatologic surgeons also are experts in skin cancer prevention, detection and treatment. As the incidence of skin cancer rises, dermatologic surgeons are committed to taking steps to minimize the life-threatening effects of this disease.
ASDS supports its over 6,400 members through educational opportunities, networking forums, mentoring programs, public awareness activities, leadership activities and advocacy efforts through the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery Association.
EXPLORE * EXPERIENCE * ENGAGE
“The Annual Meeting Work Group listened to feedback from attendees and evaluated every aspect of the four-day meeting and pre-conference,” said ASDS President Murad Alam, MD, MBA.
“The improvements being made will provide enhanced learning opportunities and enrich the overall attendee experience.”
Plus, many networking opportunities and more than 120 exhibits provide the tools, insights and inspiration to take your practice to the next level.
SKIN CARE FOR EVERY AGE
Advances in medical procedures and treatments enable dermatologic surgeons to treat a variety of childhood and adult skin conditions that previously could either not be corrected or required invasive procedures.
WHY CHOOSE AN ASDS DERMATOLOGIC SURGEON?
While you may think the most important decision that you make is whether to have dermatologic surgery, choosing a board-certified physician is truly the key to success.
What is Dermatologic Surgery?
Dermatologic surgery deals with the diagnosis and treatment of medically necessary and cosmetic conditions of the skin, hair, nails, veins, mucous membranes and adjacent tissues by various surgical, reconstructive, cosmetic and non-surgical methods.
SKIN CANCER INFORMATION AND BEST PRACTICES
With early detection and treatment, most skin cancers are completely curable.
What you need to know: Loss of smoothness and plumpness in the hands is a natural and unavoidable part of the aging process. Your ASDS dermatologist can, however, improve the appearance of your hands.
Non-invasive body contouring treatments
There are several non-invasive options for excess fat removal, including: - Low level laser therapy - Ultrasound - Radio-frequency
Whether you're fighting aging skin or skin cancer, no one is more qualified to help than an ASDS member – the skin experts. Each year, ASDS members provide more than 7 million cosmetic procedures and 3.5 million skin cancer treatments.
