Event Overview:

The IWPA Annual Convention provides access to over 300 importers, U.S. manufacturers, exporters, wholesalers, offshore suppliers and service providers of wood products from nearly 30 countries. As an attendee, you will experience informative educational sessions, fun activities and networking events. Get new ideas for your business, important market intelligence and opportunities to network with colleagues from around the globe.

About IWPA:

Established in 1956, IWPA is the leading international trade association representing the North American imported wood products industry, with over 200 companies and trade organizations engaged in the import of hardwoods and softwoods from sustainably managed forests in more than 30 nations across the globe. Association members consist of three key groups involved in the import process: U.S. importers and consuming industries, offshore manufacturers and the service providers that facilitate trade.

Keynote Speakers

Win Thin

Senior Vice President, Investor Services

Win Thin is the Global Head of Emerging Markets Strategy and has over 25 years of investment experience.  He has a broad international background with a special interest in developing markets.  Prior to joining BBH in June 2007, he founded Mandalay Advisors, an independent research firm that provided sovereign emerging market analysis to institutional investors.  Prior to that, Win was a vice president and international economist, covering major emerging markets in Asia and Latin America for Alliance Capital Management. He worked closely with portfolio managers to develop investment strategies.   Before that, Win was a vice president and international economist covering emerging markets at HSBC.  Earlier in his career, Win worked at the U.S. Treasury and Columbia University.  Win received a Ph.D. in economics from Columbia University in 1995, specializing in International and Development Economics.  He received an MA from Georgetown University in 1985 and a BA from Brandeis University in 1983.  His current research projects focus on developing and refining portfolio allocation tools for institutional investors.

"Master Your Wood Products World"

Mary Kelly is an internationally renowned author and keynote speaker on leadership, productivity, and business growth. In 21 years as a Navy intelligence and logistics officer, Mary trained more than 40,000 military and civilian personnel.

Mary holds a degree from the U.S. Naval Academy, master’s degrees in both in Economics and History, and a PhD in economics. She has more than 20 years experience teaching economics, finance, leadership, and management at the Naval Academy, the Air Force Academy, and Hawaii Pacific University.

Mary is also a member of MENSA and the American Economics Association. She is the recipient of the U.S. Air Force Academy Outstanding Educator and Instructor of the Year awards.

Today, Mary is a popular motivational leadership keynote speaker for conferences and events. Mary earned the CSP, the Certified Speaking Professional designation, which is earned by less than 1% of professional speakers and is the highest designation awarded by the National Speakers Association.  In 2015 Mary was the National Speakers Association Member of the Year in Colorado.

Mary loves business strategy, succession planning, and leadership development that yields results.  She also loves helping other people succeed, which is what makes her an effective executive business coach.
