This course is designed for those nurses working in the Progressive Care Unit who wish to take the PCCN Examination offered by AACN. The Progressive Care Area is defined as any unit referred to as: Intermediate Care, Direct Observa-tion, Step-down, Telemetry Units or Transitional Care. The course will focus on core concepts defined by AACN that are essential for caring for this diverse population of adult patients.

Dr. Lori Bailey has served in the critical and acute care environments for nearly 20 years. She has worked at the bedside as an educator and in a supervisory role. She has a broad range of experiences and uses the stories of her experience in the classroom. Currently, Lori can be found in a busy CICU in Spokane, WA.
Lori is a long-time member of the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) and has served as a CE article reviewer, past chapter president (Emerald Coast Chapter) and as AACN ambassador. She is also active in Sigma Theta Tau and the National League for Nursing. She holds critical care, medical/surgical and nurse educator certifications and a PhD in nursing education from the University of Northern Colorado. Lori’s passion is education. She has taught in various nursing programs and enjoys traveling to help nurses prepare for certification. Lori’s peers have found her to be an engaging speaker with the ability to make even the most complex concepts manageable
