Event Overview:

SCUP's annual, international conference is traditionally held in July and draws 1,500 higher education planning professionals who bring a broad spectrum of experience and opinions that provide a well-rounded look at the latest tends and topics that all of higher education face.

At SCUP's annual, international conference you will meet a wide cross-section of senior-level higher education leaders from the president's office, academic affairs, budget and financial, student affairs, capital planning - and everywhere in between. This five-day conference will give you practical strategies and actionable tools that will save you and your institution time, money, and other resources for your daily and long-term planning projects!

What Makes SCUP's Annual, International Conference Different?
Leaders from a variety of functional areas - academic, financial, and facilities - who come from four-year private and public universities, small colleges, community colleges, as well as firms that support higher education talk candidly about the opportunities and challenges facing their campus.

For SCUP-53, SCUP set the number of booths at 24. The SCUP Commons also will include 30 "Tell Me A Story" boards, four large lounges, a Maker Space, a Knowledge Works area, a Tech Demo Bar, a photo booth, the Relaxation Station, tweet monitors, a Take Five Kiosk, charging stations, the SCUP Excellence Awards display area, and an area for serving food and beverages.

About SCUP:

The Society for College and University Planning (SCUP), which was established in 1965, is a community of senior, higher education leaders who are responsible for, or are involved in, the integration of planning on their campuses and for the professionals who support them.

Members look to SCUP to find ways to successfully integrate the institution's mission into their academic plan, and then seek to integrate all other kinds of planning on campus in support of the academic plan.

Jaime evangelizes the power and potential of the web, technology, and Google tools as enabling and supporting capabilities in pursuit of creating powerful learning models. In eight years at Google, Jaime was part of the original team that launched Google Apps for universities, launched Google Apps into K12, and helped get Chromebooks off the ground and into schools.

Today he is responsible for working across all internal teams that impact education and with educational organizations around the world to help them find ways to improve the quality of education through the use of technology.

Doris Kearns Goodwin

World-renowned presidential historian and Pulitzer Prize-winning author

Goodwin is the author of six critically acclaimed and New York Times best-selling books, including her most recent, The Bully Pulpit: Theodore Roosevelt, William Howard Taft, and the Golden Age of Journalism (November, 2013). Winner of the Carnegie Medal, The Bully Pulpit is a dynamic history of the first decade of the Progressive era, that tumultuous time when the nation was coming unseamed and reform was in the air.

Mildred García

President

American Association of State Colleges and Universities

Scholar. Trailblazer. Exemplary higher education leader and first Latina to lead one of the six presidentially-based higher education associations in Washington D.C.

García is an advocate for public higher education at the national level. She works to influence federal policy and regulations on behalf of member colleges and universities, serves as a resource to presidents and chancellors as they address state policy and emerging campus issues, develops collaborative partnerships and initiatives that advance public higher education, and directs a strategic agenda that focuses on public college and university leadership for the 21st century.
