Lift & Move USA is an industry-led initiative to address the skills gap in the USA's crane, rigging and specialized transport sectors.
Companies are looking for mechanics, riggers, equipment operators and many other roles, and there are great career opportunities for those willing to learn and work hard.
The centrepiece of the program is regular events around the country, hosted by major players in the industry, that showcase the opportunities to build rewarding and successful careers.
The program is aimed at high school and college students as well as veterans, and events will typically be attended by between 250 and 700 students.
Lift & Move USA and the hosts reach out to local schools and colleges and other organisations before each event.
Lift & Move USA will provide you with all the information and contacts you need to plan a career in this exciting industry.
Who should attend?
Students and Parents
Lift & Move USA is targeted at young people considering their future careers, including students in high school and those attending community and technical colleges.
The kinds of vocational, technical and service opportunities available in the crane, rigging and heavy transport sectors may appeal in particular to students involved in SkillsUSA programs.
Recent high school or college graduates without employment would also be interested in the event.
Military and Veterans
Many of the skills and roles within the military translate into successful careers in the crane, rigging and specialized transportation industries, including administrative, engineering and logistical support activities.
The job opportunities available in the crane, rigging and transportation industries include many of the traditional roles available in all types of business – office administration, sales, accounts etc. – but also specific roles related to operations in an engineering or technical environment, such as crane operators, ironwork riggers, mechanics, maintenance technicians and drivers.
