About NACE

Who we are

NACE International, The Worldwide Corrosion Authority, was established in 1943 by eleven corrosion engineers from the pipeline industry as the “National Association of Corrosion Engineers.”

Today, NACE serves nearly 36,000 members in over 130 countries and is recognized globally as the premier authority for corrosion control solutions. The organization offers technical training and certification programs, conferences, industry standards, reports, publications, technical journals, government relations activities and more.

NACE International is headquartered in Houston, Texas, with offices in San Diego, California; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Shanghai, China, Sao Paulo, Brazil and Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia.

Government Relations

NACE International develops and executes legislative strategies centered on the policy issues that matter to our members. By working with policy makers, the association ensures the voice of corrosion industry professionals is heard and legislators are informed of the importance of corrosion control. NACE International staff has been instrumental in raising awareness on Capitol Hill through coordination of legislative fly ins, submission of Congressional Testimony, letter writing campaigns, and in the development of the Corrosion Prevention Caucus.

NACE provides education, training, resources, and solutions that help to mitigate the costly effects of corrosion. In doing so, NACE International affirms its commitment to industry in the fight against corrosion.

NACE International is organized into four Areas in North America and four Global Areas. NACE International has 142 sections, including 33 student sections worldwide sponsor local programs to promote the exchange of corrosion information and education.

NACE Ethical Advocate

NACE International offers an anonymous and confidential service, NACE Ethical Advocate, for reporting unethical incidents, behavior, practices, or conditions related to NACE employees and management. This service is open to all NACE members, customers, employees, and business partners.
