Youth Character-Development Program Nationwide

Safeguard, a leading print, promotional products and business services distribution company, is partnering with the YMCA of the Brandywine Valley to help take their STRIDE boys running and character-development program nationwide. Safeguard has been a respected supplier to the YMCA for more than 25 years and a supplier to the nonprofit sector for more than 57 years.

STRIDE was developed by the YMCA of the Brandywine Valley to help boys in grades three to five build character and healthy living habits. The ten-week program includes games, activities, lessons and preparation for running a 5K race.

According to Denise L. Day, President and CEO of the YMCA of the Brandywine Valley, "The STRIDE program is a perfect fit for the Y's core values to strengthen the foundation of communities through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. We're excited that Safeguard shares the Y's commitment to helping our youth reach their full potential and welcome them as our new nationwide STRIDE sponsor."

Together, the Y and Safeguard are embarking on an ambitious growth plan for STRIDE. By leveraging Safeguard's nationwide network and focusing on providing business solutions that help organizations manage, market and grow their business, the Y expects to grow the STRIDE program throughout the country. According to Day, the YMCA of the Brandywine Valley has come to count on the personalized care and service that are a hallmark of Safeguard's way of doing business.

Safeguard Is Making Headlines with Promo

Here's good news for small business owners looking for new ways to market their business. Safeguard, a company they've counted on for years for its consultative approach, knowledge of promotional products and creative ideas for building brand awareness, has become a recognized leader in the promotional products industry, winning several top honors in recent months.

This year, Safeguard (along with its parent company, Deluxe) was named a Top 40 Distributor in the Advertising Specialty Institute's (ASI's) and Counselor magazine's 2013 Counselor Awards! Safeguard made its debut on the list at #34, with combined 2012 promotional products sales revenues of more than $38 million. In addition, Safeguard was recognized for a second year in a row in Counselor's list of Top 10 Fastest Growing Distributors in the ad specialty market. This recognition is based on Safeguard's outstanding 111 percent growth in year-over-year sales revenues from 2010 to 2012.

Not only did Safeguard make the list of Top 40 Distributors, but Counselor magazine, in its State of the Industry edition, also included Safeguard among the fastest growing Top 40 Distributors - those with the largest revenue growth between 2011 and 2012. Safeguard's growth during that time period was an amazing 38 percent!

ASI is the largest education, media and marketing organization serving the advertising specialty industry, with a membership of more than 26,000 distributor firms (sellers) and supplier firms (manufacturers) of advertising specialties. Counselor magazine is an ASI publication.

In addition, Promo Marketing magazine announced in May its 2013 Top 50 Distributors list. This year, Safeguard and Deluxe moved up to #23 in the list of 2013's highest-earning companies. This is a three-spot jump over the previous year.

These honors are the result of a renewed effort by Safeguard Consultants to educate business owners about the potential benefits of the promo category and how to use promo marketing effectively.
