Keith Harmeyer is all about ideas!
A recognized expert on the topics of innovative thinking, creative problem solving and idea generation, Keith spends his time speaking, facilitating, writing, consulting — and inspiring others to think more innovatively.
A founding partner at SmartStorming, Keith has worked with market leaders like Google, Under Armour, NBCUniversal, Diageo, Siemens, Omnicom, WPP, Macmillan Publishing, NETSCOUT, and others...and has even taught the SmartStorming process to MBA candidates at MIT's Sloan School of Management.
For over 20 years Keith was a creative director and copywriter at New York advertising agencies in the Omnicom and Publicis networks, where he generated innovative ideas for some of the world's leading brands.
Before advertising Keith was a professional singer and actor and appeared in opera and musical theater productions throughout the US. (He has been known, on occasion, to spontaneously break into song!)
Keith is co-author of the acclaimed book, SmartStorming: The Game-Changing Process for Generating Bigger, Better Ideas. He is a graduate of Loyola and Tulane Universities, both in his hometown of New Orleans, is a member of the National Speakers Association, and President-Elect of the Florida Speakers Association. He currently lives at the beach in Hollywood, Florida, with his wife and creative muse, Vivian.
I would highly recommend Keith for a speaker at your meeting. First, from a planner perspective he was very easy to work with in terms of content and logistics. He was accessible and responsive to our questions and flexible in the planning process. In addition, he submitted materials in a timely manner and was present for rehearsal. From a content/attendee standpoint, the guests enjoyed his presentation on Innovation, You’re only as good as your last good idea. They found him to be both entertaining and interesting.
A few comments from our clients:
‘This was definitely something I could take back to the team and start implementing right away. Great speaker!’
‘Loved the topic and found it very interesting with the various approaches to Innovative Thinking challenging. I liked the exercise.’

I can’t even begin to tell you how much amazing feedback we are receiving. Several people have said this is the best offsite they have ever attended. Not only was it fun – but we all learned so much in the process. Thank you for making us all so much better at our jobs and teaching me how to better inspire the folks around us.
– Lauren Radcliffe, Vice President, Client Solutions, NBCUniversal
The training was a lot of fun, but more importantly, everyone came away with a lot of insights and valuable tools we can use in our upcoming brainstorms. From a training perspective, I know I personally am going to benefit from using these skills in teaching/facilitating any topic.
– Erika Klug, Learning & Development Specialist, Under Armour
Thank you for a stellar job at our annual Innovation Conference. Your SmartStorming problem-solving presentation was a highlight of the event. The energy in the room was incredible and your ability to keep it bubbling for nearly 4 hours was brilliant. And the fact that our attendees left with valuable insights and skills was a big plus. Our senior management was also very impressed, and is keen to have you do more work with our team!
– Scott Crane, Director of Advanced Development Enablement, Arbor Networks: The security division of NETSCOUT
Thank you for creating a highly engaging program for our team during our annual sales meeting this year. We learned great idea generation approaches that were both fun and practical. The simple strategies and “rules” allowed us the freedom to come up with hundreds of ideas, without restrictions, that lead to better end solutions.
– Bethany Frick, VP, National Accounts, DIAGEO North America
…a spot-on presentation which perfectly reinforced our conference theme and lifted our conversation to the forward-thinking perspective we had hoped for. The energy level, humor, and “aha” factor were all in constant play. It was a home run for us!
– Michael J. Armstrong, CEO, NCARB
Keith, I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your great presentation at our event. Your program was big hit.! Not only was your content spot on, but holding the attention of eighty professional speakers right after lunch took a special speaker. Thanks you again for your great work and I look forward to working together again the future.
– Bob Frare, “Speak for Success” Chair, Florida Speakers Association
Keith Harmeyer was a terrific addition to our conference. His keynote on innovative thinking and idea generation was not only engaging and inspirational, it was a lot of fun for everyone. I particularly liked the in-the-moment idea generation exercises. Our conference attendees walked away with a new perspective on the value of innovative thinking and how it applies to their careers and even their lives. That’s exactly the kind of takeaway our conference seeks.
