With millions of teenagers struggling with drug and alcohol abuse, mental illness and behavioral health disorders in the United States, the time to address these issues has never been more crucial. When these problems go unaddressed, not only do they affect teens but they affect the community as well: disruption in school performance, health issues, legal problems, and social issues within the family dynamic. The need to help teens get through the tough years is becoming more evident, which is why we’re happy to announce that Teen Treatment Center will be hosting our first annual Teen Behavioral Health Summit, featuring Dr. Drew Pinsky.

With over 25 years’ experience as a practicing physician and assistant clinical professor, Dr. Drew will share his expertise on the innovative approaches to adolescent substance abuse, mental illness and behavioral health. You may know Dr. Drew from his nationally syndicated radio show, Loveline. He also currently hosts his own nightly show “Dr. Drew On Call” on HLN and he hosts the no. 1 podcast on iTunes for Health and Wellness with Adam Corolla. Dr. Drew has published multiple studies in professional journals and he’s a New York Times bestselling author. The Teen Behavioral Health Summit will be an exclusive event, where VIP participants will have the chance to meet and greet Dr. Drew. We will also have two Q&A sessions for all participants and lunch will be included. For professionals, this is your chance to accrue CEU credits as well.

We invite parents, professionals, and anyone who wants to learn innovative, practical approaches to teen substance abuse, mental health, and behavioral disorders.

Hear from our professionals from the Teen Treatment Center: • Dr. Drew – With a focus on teen substance abuse, mental health and behavioral disorders. Dr. Drew will discuss Getting Through the Tough Years. ? Rostislav Ignatov – With a focus on behavioral health, Dr. Ignatov will discuss the latest trends in adolescent substance abuse and psychiatric aspects. • Dr. Manuel Montes– With a focus on psychopharmacology, Dr. Montes will discuss effective clinical approaches and the drug and alcohol effects on teens’ brain. • Kari Weeks, LMFT – With a focus on family therapy, Kari will discuss family dynamics and pertinent topics, such as the effective use of dialectal behavioral therapy (DBT).

• Dr. Alex Chin – With a focus on childhood trauma, Dr. Chin will discuss how childhood trauma impacts the teen years and the most effective ways to treat it.

The goal of the Teen Behavioral Health Summit is to bring awareness to South Florida by helping parents and professionals understand the best approaches to helping teens overcome substance abuse, mental illness and behavioral disorders.
